Light TherapyWe use multiple modalities to relieve pain and facilitate healing for our clients. In addition to traditional physical therapy, we often supplement care using light therapy. This painless FDA-approved treatment is fast and effective – usually delivering results in just a few sessions. What is Light Therapy?Light therapy – also known as laser therapy – is the use of specific wavelengths of light applied to injured and inflamed tissues. A wand is held directly over the injury, where it emits light energy that helps temporarily improve blood circulation, speeding healing and minimizing pain. This treatment is typically repeated at each physical therapy visit until pain and inflammation subside. Individuals undergoing light therapy typically enjoy a faster recovery time. Many physical therapy
clients are eligible for light therapy, including those suffering from
chronic pain, inflammation, tendonitis, arthritis, bursitis, nerve
damage, and even torn cartilage. Many athletes also use light therapy to
maximize athletic performance and expedite recovery between training
sessions. Back to Services and Patient Education
