Dr. Joshua Balch
Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Dr. Joshua Balch attended Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica and completed the majority of his clinical clerkships in New York City. He then completed his internship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA in general surgery. After his surgical internship, Dr. Balch completed his residency training in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital located in Wheaton, IL. He then completed his pain fellowship at Pain and Headache Center in Wasilla, Alaska. While in Alaska, he trained underneath an internationally recognized expert in interventional pain medicine, Dr. Andrea Trescot who continues to be a valuable mentor post fellowship. His main area of focus during his fellowship includes spinal and musculoskeletal pain, abdominal pain, peripheral nerve entrapments and regenerative therapy.
Robert Balch III, D.O.
Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management, ABPMR
Dr. Balch attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. He completed residency training in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He then completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he served as Chief Fellow and was awarded the esteemed “Pain Fellow of the Year” by the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. During his fellowship, he worked closely with internationally recognized experts in headache pain, spine and pelvic pain. Dr. Balch is an accomplished author and has published several papers in Scientific Journals including “Ultrasound Guided Intrathecal Baclofen Trials: A Case series”, and Extended Release Morphine Sulfate in Treatment of Severe Acute and Chronic Pain. Dr. Balch’s experience as a pain management specialist has fostered an understanding that one must treat the whole person by incorporating the mind, body and spirit. The patient must feel good about themselves as a whole person in order to achieve the best level of health. Thus, Dr. Balch is proud to offer a full scale of aesthetic therapies to his pain management practice which includes cosmetic laser therapy, pharmaceutical grade skin care products, facials, microdermabrasion, Botox and dermal filler injections.
